Missouri’s Regional Planning Commissions participated in the 2024 Planner’s Day at the Capitol on April 3, 2024. The event, organized by the Missouri Chapter of the American Planning Association – administered by the Southwest Missouri Council of Governments – provides opportunities to meet with legislative leaders to promote the vital importance of planning in Missouri and to celebrate 10 years of the “Great Places in Missouri” program which honors exemplary planning efforts that led to great public spaces, streets and neighborhoods. Over 16 Missouri professional planners attended meeting with over 20 state senators and representatives. Southwest Missouri COG was joined by planners from Harry S. Truman Coordinating Council, Mark Twain Regional Council of Governments, Bootheel Regional Planning Commission and Pioneer Trails Regional Planning Commission. MACOG is proud to be a supporter of the Planner’s Day at the Capitol. More info about the program is available at Missouri.planning.org.
